

Kapalua Resort has 100 miles of trails planned from the mountain ridge to the coastline for walking, hiking and horseback riding. You'll find trails for every kind of hiker weaving a diverse tapestry throughout Kapalua Resort's land holdings.
Kapalua Adventure Center offers a complimentary booklet, the Kapalua Resort Trail Passport, as a guide to our ever-expanding trail system.
Trails are free and open to resort guests and visitors as a self-guided experience. Guided Hike and Kayak Tours are available and can be arranged through the Kapalua Adventure Center concierges.

Honolua Ridge Trail &
Maunalei Arboretum
Maunalei Arboretum was established in the 1920s by D.T. Fleming, visionary plantation manager of Honolua Ranch. He traveled the world seeking new plant and tree species that would complement our island home; these discoveries can be seen today planted like a lei encircling the mountain top.
Access: Hikers are required to take the resort shuttle to the Trail Start since it's located above a private neighborhood. Shuttles leave regularly throughout the day from the Kapalua Adventure Center.
Trails: Three trails ranging from Easy to Moderate
Hours: 7 a.m. to sunset

Mahana Ridge Trail
This mountain ridge trail connects Maunalei Arboretum to the heart of Kapalua Resort. Offering spectacular views of Mokupe‘a and Honokahua Gulches, this trail allows hikers to walk through rugged land once used to cultivate coffee and pineapple during the Honolua Ranch era.
Access: Hikers are required to take the resort shuttle to the Maunalei Arboretum Trail Start. Shuttles leave regularly throughout the day from the Kapalua Adventure Center.

Village Walking Trails
A network of walking trails follows the established cart path located on the former Village Golf Course.
Stunning panoramic views and a hidden lake stocked with ducks await those who venture to the top of the course.
Access: Check-in at the Kapalua Adventure Center to sign a release and obtain an access card prior to entering the trails.
Trails: Six trails ranging from Easy to Difficult
Hours: 7 a.m. to sunset
